Octo offers a solid Korean-Chinese selection that is guaranteed to satisfy your taste buds. We made a reservation and were immediately seated. The restaurant presents with a wide and spacious interior and a good number of seating, making it ideal for gatherings of any size. We ultimately decided on the half duck combo (will feed 2-3 people for $125) and ordered the cucumber radish salad, half peking duck, tangsuyuk, hot garlic chicken, and jajangmyeon. They gave thin pancakes for us to make peking duck wraps which tasted so good. I felt that the portions were slightly small for 3 people. The food tasted fantastic and I do recommend the combo; however, the service was a little slower than expected. Although the staff was friendly and attentive, constantly filling our empty glasses, the pace of the meal slowed the overall experience. Overall, Octo is a great choice for anyone craving Korean-Chinese cuisine in a clean, modern environment with dishes rich in flavor. My only critiques would be having smaller portions and a potentially longer wait, but the food is worth it.

Came for their lunch set on a Friday at noon and there was no wait! Absolutely beautiful interior, clean and modern with perfect service. They welcomed us with hot barley tea almost immediately after we sat down. We ordered the seoul and gunsam set so got to try their jajangmyeon and jjamppong, tangsuyuk and dumpling! Loved the jajangmyeon and jjamppong - noodles were very chewy and the flavor was exactly what I expected from the classic korean-chinese dish. loveddd their dumpling, thought it was beautifully presented and paired with spicy nuts. was not a huge fan of the tangsuyuk crispy pork in sweet and sour sauce but glad I got to try it. Overall a beautiful and delicious meal at a great spot for $30 total w tax and tip. Would come back again if ever craving jajangmyeon or jjamppong!

Octo is a modernly chic take on Korean dishes, inspiring a synthesis of traditional tastes and contemporary styles. I loved Octo's sensational interior as it was clean, creative, and simple all at the same time. The tangsuyuk was a savory shared plate that pairs well with any main dish. If you're looking to elevate your dining experience, the steak jjajangmyeon, which included beef steak, egg, and truffle, is a tremendous option. The combination of these components highlighted the bean paste sauce and noodles in a way I had never imagined before. This was a well-thought out dish, because the added ingredients to the traditional black bean noodles did not take away the originality of the dish as a whole. The dining experience here at Octo is one of NYC Koreatown's best, and should be a must-visit to the city.

The prices on this menu are very puzzling because some dishes are oddly expensive (the beef tansuyuk for $48) whereas some are very not (the squid jjampong for 2 people for $35). We ended up sharing the squid jjampong and hot garlic chicken, and we had a ton of squid jjampong leftover for me to take home. Everything was totally solid; the garlic chicken was crispy, flavorful, and moist. They weren't very spicy. The crispy wonton skins were a nice touch. The jjampong was exactly what I needed on a cold day and was very comforting and flavorful. For about $80 for 2 after tip with the amount of leftovers, I think this ended up being a pretty good deal for a beautiful restaurant with easy reservations (booked yesterday and had full availability). i wouldn't say it's a must go but it's a solid, good option in a pinch if I wanted to get dinner with friends last minute.

Amazing! The Mr. and I along with our three young kiddos dined here (4, 6, and 9) and we all loved it. Our 6 yr old requested jjajangmyeon during our visit to NYC, and we chose Octo based on the reviews and the more refined vibe than that of the typical Korean-Chinese restaurant. We ordered Jjajangmyeon, Tangsuyuk, Jjampong (white), and a half portion of Peking Duck. Everything was delicious, but the dishes that stood out me the most were the Jjambbong and Peking Duck, which surprised me. We ordered the white version of the Jjambbong, so the kids could try it (they have zero spice tolerance), so I honestly wasn't expecting much, but I was blown away by the depth of flavor that was achieved with the broth. The seafood variety was great, and the amount of seafood relative to the noodles was very well balanced. We all finished this dish off in no time, with the kiddos tipping their bowls high in the sky to get every last drop of broth. :) I didn't miss the spice at all and would actually order it this way for future visits. Regarding the Peking Duck, I was honestly a bit confused as to why it was on the menu and even wondered if the owners were Chinese rather than Korean (they are Korean). We were on the fence about ordering it, because I'm not a big fan of duck in general, and the Mr. who loves Peking Duck worried that no one else would like it and he'd have to eat it most or all of it himself, but he wanted to be able to save room for all the other dishes we wanted to try. I'm so glad we ordered it, because it was one of the highlights for me and everyone else! It was so well prepared, seasoned, and beautifully presented. The skin was crispy, and the meat, which was sliced on the thinner side (big plus for me) was very tender and did not taste too gamey for me. The Jjangmyeon and Tangsuyuk were good, and we would order them again, but they definitely took a back seat to the Jjambbong and Peking Duck. It's funny because the reason why we dined here at all was because they serve Jjajangmyun, yet the we walked away raving about the Jjambbong and Peking Duck, which isn't even a Korean-Chinese dish. We loved the modern decor and airiness of the space, which matched the sophistication brought to the dishes. The service was good and the food arrived in a reasonable time frame. We will definitely be back!

You can't miss this place with its bright green door, and the welcoming atmosphere as you enter inside. The service was TOP-NOTCH, and the food was delicious. I have been going crazy looking for some good Jajangmyeon and I finally found it.i was shocked with thehuge portion I was amazed that I even finished it. Furthermore, I had to return the Tangsuyuk due to a pineapple allergy I have (not their fault), the menu on yelp for the dish is different than their website (I shared the confusion with the owner about it) the owner was incredibly kind and surprised me with complimentary soup dumplings. I've never felt so welcomed and I will definitely be returning for the great food and exceptional service. Thank you!

I was at a private event in the back room of Octo and the food was fantastic! The side dishes, jjajangmyun, fried rice, dumplings... everything we had was delicious. What really stood out to me was the tangsuyuk! So flavorful. The service was great. The room was a bit cramped for a large audience, and it's not very sound proof, but would love to come back here for lunch/dinner.

Had a wonderful dinner with my girls at Octo on a Wed evening. Loved how modern and spacious the place was. We sat at a nice comfortable booth table and the quiet environment plus patient staff provided a perfect atmosphere to catch up. Since my friends could not eat pork, shellfish or beef, we ended up ordering: - [ ] Cucumber salad ($9) - had a refreshing crunch but nothing out the ordinary - [ ] Half duck ($60) - loved the thin crepe wrap that came with it - [ ] Soy crispy chicken ($26) - nice crisp with soy sauce dressed with spicy peppers on top. Loved how juicy the chicken was inside. The meal also came with complimentary sour turnip and vegetable sides. The service was wonderful and attentive. Our water and tea kept getting refilled and they never rushed us. I will definitely come back to try their shrimp sandwich appetizer, jajangmyeon pork bean noodles, and dumplings next time!
